Code Law is not a traditional law firm. We have customers, not clients. We don’t write complicated memos but provide hands-on advice. We speak the customer’s language, not legalize. And we bridge the gap - we work closely with our customers to truly understand their business, goals and values and see ourselves as part of their team.

We are a tech-powered legal service company. We don’t have paper stacks on wooden desks. Instead, we apply state-of-the-art technology, work with a lean organization and implement efficient work processes to eliminate repetitive tasks so that we can focus on creating legal value for our customers.

Our main focus is on corporate law and technology-related legal matters while at the same time covering all other legal needs that innovative startups, entrepreneurs and corporate customers face in their course of business. Code Law is part of the Swiss Startup Group and well networked with a variety of partners to provide supplementary services (e.g. tax advice).

We are now looking for an ambitious and curious Legal Counsel Corporate/Startups/Venture Capital (60 - 100%) to support us in guiding our customers through all legal aspects of their journey.

Tasks

• Provide legal advice to our customers, including some of the most promising startups in the Swiss startup ecosystem
• Assume full customer/project responsibility
• Support in launching digital legal products/services from research to market fit and implementation
• Align with other business units of the Swiss Startup Group and our partners (e.g. law firms, tax experts, software suppliers)

Requirements

• Swiss university degree (lic. iur./MLaw); admission to the bar not required (but a plus)
• Good knowledge and experience in the areas of corporate law, venture capital/startups and M&A including financing rounds, convertible loans, shareholders' agreements and employee incentive plans
• 3+ years' professional experience (e.g. in a law firm or as inhouse counsel); prior experience in the field of startups is a plus
• German as native language, excellent English skills
• Enthusiasm for entrepreneurship/startups
• High attention to detail
• Ability to selforganize and work independently
• Can-do mindset
• Strong communication skills
