We are a Swiss family-owned company group based in Niederurnen, Switzerland, only 45 mins from Zurich downtown in the beautiful canton Glaronia. At this location the industrial production facilities for fiber cement was founded in 1903. Since then we think in terms of future generations, and for decades we have been doing what we do best: Through curiosity, passion, and commitment, we turn natural raw materials into innovative, aesthetic, and sustainable products (from fibre cement to solar) for facades, roofs, interiors, and garden areas.
However, we are forward thinking and are building our company’s future day by day. With the acquisition of the Cembrit Group in June 2022, we have strengthened our already strong presence in Europe and are now heading towards becoming the powerhouse of fiber cement with today 2’600 employees.
For the newly created role as
Senior Group Legal Counsel
we are now looking for an entrepreneurial lawyer who enjoys establishing the legal function in our group and coordinating all legal matters internationally.
Your challenge:
As business partner at eye level, you will be responsible to integrally manage the group-wide legal topics as interface between countries and functional areas as well as external lawyers, reporting directly to the Group CFO. You are ready to take responsibility in a dynamic, international working environment providing pragmatic and implementable solutions in your field of expertise.
The projects and tasks you will work on will encompass a wide range of legal fields such as:
- Post M&A: Realise all legal topics in regard of the post-merger integration, especially legal company structure
- IP / TM Management: Ensuring a group-wide approval process for TM changes/renewals and interact with external lawyers
- Contract work: Handling of NDA‘s, Intercompany contracts, and Loan agreements as well as review new group contracts with suppliers/service providers
- General Terms and Conditions and Warranties: Define general terms and conditions and and support business in
- GDPR: You act as the Swisspearl Group Data Protection Office (DP) and coordinate with the local data protection officers, as well as with data protection lawyers
- Compliance & Regulations: Performing of compliance tasks and responsibility for compliance of internal regulations (e.g., expense regulations, IT regulations), ad hoc requests for sensitive issues, etc.
- General legal tasks: Coordinate the main legal workstreams of the Swisspearl Group in close collaboration with the business and manage the legal cost
What matters to us:
- Master’s degree in law (from a Swiss University)
- Admission to the Swiss Bar is a prerequisite
- 5+ years of professional experience in a similar position in a complex and international environment (law firm or inhouse)
- Extensive knowledge of legal topics relevant for internationally operating corporations
- Conversationally confident in English and German
- Holistic mindset in order to provide business oriented and pragmatic solutions
- Organizational talent with a high flexibility and self-motivation
- Hands-on mentality and Can-Do attitude
- High personal integrity and social competence
- Willingness to travel about 20% (within Europe)
